• Ronald McDonald House Charities Foundation (India) is rooted in the idea that through our collective efforts and family-centered programs and services, we will be able to help families find strength, stability and vital resources to get and keep their children healthy and happy.

Scenario

• Over 60% of India’s semi-urban and rural population has limited or no access to quality infrastructure and advanced medical treatments which makes them travel long distances to avail medical facilities which puts them under emotional, financial and physical stress in their daily lives.

Opportunity

• RMHCFI seeks to provide all families with a comfortable space within the hospital during their children’s treatment. The goal is to provide a place that removes the families from the hospital environment in which they spend so much of their time and give them the resources to rest and recoup, even though for a brief period of time.The Family Room will provide a comfortable waiting area while these families await their turn to meet the doctors. In addition to that, the Family Room will also provide various facilities like a child friendly play place, area for refreshments for these families.

• A comfortable seating area for families waiting for their turn to meet the doctors
• Dry pantry for beverages
•  Play and activity area for children
• Counseling for families
• Clean bathrooms for the families and children
• Support for paper work (filling of forms etc.) by volunteers
• Recreation Facilities ( Television, DVD Player, CD Player)
