About Ronald McDonald House

We believe that “home” is more than four walls and a roof over your head. That’s why every Ronald McDonald House is a haven for families with children in the hospital.

A Ronald McDonald House is a free, safe, and supportive place for families to stay while their child is receiving medical treatment far from home. It is designed to keep families close to the hospital during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. By offering a home-like environment with spaces to rest, cook, and spend time together, a Ronald McDonald House helps ease the emotional and financial strain families face during long healthcare journeys.

Around the world, these Houses allow parents to focus on their child’s recovery without worrying about accommodation costs or distance from care.

A Milestone for India

In October 2025, Ronald McDonald House India opened the country’s first Ronald McDonald House in Mahim, Mumbai. This House strengthens the commitment to supporting families who travel to Mumbai for their child’s medical treatment. Its location near leading paediatric hospitals ensures that families remain close to care and have a stable and comforting place to return to each day.

The House represents an important step forward in expanding the reach of Ronald McDonald House India and ensuring that more families have access to the support they need during prolonged medical treatment.
